The bulk of the collection is letters to T. R. Marvin (and a few manuscripts) concerning his printing, especially of the speeches of politicians such as Daniel Webster, and educators such as Williams College president Mark Hopkins. Also contains addresses before the Boston Mercantile Library Association, some published by the firm of Perkins and Marvin. Other letters are to T. R. Marvin on libraries or education, to W. T. R. Marvin on numismatics, between Marvin family members, or between third parties. Also miscellaneous autograph signatures.
